The Core.
Full Name: Macadrian (mick-ah-dree-an) Coov(coo-vv)
Nickname(s): Macedonian, Mackie, Emeh! (A form of M.A, only really called that by those who know the origin of her name)
Birthday: September 19, 2489
Age: 29
Origin: Sihnon
Location: Serenity
Allegiance:Neutral
Occupation: None as for now
The Appearance.
Eye Color: Mackie suffers from Heterochromia, which causes the person to have two different colored eyes, or an eye that has two different colors. This is often caused by disease or injury. Mackie got hers from the latter. Her left eye is a dark brown with a thin sliver of hazel. Her right is pure hazel.
Hair Color: Mackie’s hair is almost hard to define. At first, in the dull, yellow, unnatural lights of a ship or lamp her hair looks like a mousy brown/grey. But when she emerges into the natural sunlight or white lights, her hair is a lovely dark honey brown/red.
Height && Weight: Mackie stands at 5’7” and weighs a little over 160 pounds. Mackie is about twenty pounds overweight and jokes the extra weight is muscle. She really doesn’t make much of a fuss over it, even if she’s on the slightly pudgy side.
General Description: Mackie’s face is not a pretty very pretty. Her cheeks and chin have large, faded patches of scar tissue and her nose has four long scars running across. Her forehead has a small dent in it that’s not very noticeable and a patch of burned skin. As for the rest of her body, Mackie’s left arm and hand are slightly burned from a cooking accident and various scars across her torso and legs. Her worst scar is on the back of her head, covered by hair. If anyone touches it, she will cringe and cry out. Her lips are pale and one bit is scared. Her teeth are a little crooked and anything but pearly white. One of her front teeth is chipped.
The Personality.
Likes && Dislikes: Mackie hates it when people compare her name to Macedonian nuts. She especially hates it when they laugh and think they are the cleverest person to come up with that all by them self. If you were to ask Mackie what she likes she may just shrug and answer freedom and life. Though her answer is vague, it’s truer then most know. There isn’t a day that goes by that she doesn’t feel thankful for her life or to be out and about, unrestrained by any rules.
Interests && Hobbies: Mackie like cooking. That was before she burned half her arm and set the kitchen on fire. After that Mackie skipped from hobby to hobbies, screwing up or growing bored of almost everything. Animals didn’t like her, she wasn’t athletic, mathematics and science bore her. The only thing Mackie was ever good at and enjoyed was sketching. But no one ever encouraged her and she soon gave it up, trying to find some other profession that she could succeed at and make a living with.
Strengths: Sketching, she is a wonderful artist and creates many life like drawing. Mackie is also good at lending an ear. She doesn’t have most of the answers and can’t be much of a help with life’s many questions, but she will be sympathetic and lend a shoulder to cry on.
Weaknesses: Anything that has to do with being athletic and academicals skills. She knows how to shoot a gun (to the horror of her parents) and even a small amount of sword play. But if given a choice she would rather run. Mackie’s not daring or brave.
Secrets: Plenty. That’s why she’s out traveling. Her name is one. Everyone on her home planet knows her as Macadrien. She doesn’t want anyone to call her that ever again. She’s also accident prone, clumsy and socially awkward. Mackie hopes that by running away, she can become some one that people like and some one who gets a little respect. Maybe she won’t be known as a clumsy child who almost got herself killed, can never have a boyfriend and used to wet herself in public. Mackie also stole a small ship and “kinda” blew it up.
Overall Personality: How can one really define their personality? Mackie is social awkward and nervous. She doesn’t know how to keep a relationship afloat and was over protected as a child causing her to be somewhat lacking in knowledge of space, politics, war and other things that any traveler would know. She’s a little on the simple side but her heart is true… not that it means anything to most people.
The Family.
Parents && Siblings: Mackie has twin brothers, Mac and Adrian whom she was named for. Her parents, Harris and Kendra Coov were strict and always slightly embarrassed of Mackie. Nellie is Mackie’s “oh so perfect in every way” little eleven year old sister who is a spoiled rotten brat and everything her parents could wish for.
Character History: Kendra and Harris had always hoped for a little girl. After Mac and Adrian and proven to be terrorists in disguise of adorable twins, they couple pleaded that their next child would be a sweet angel. When Macadrian was born, her parents were overjoyed. So overjoyed in fact, they named their little girl after their sons. But Mackie proved to be a hassle. She wouldn’t crawl like normal babies did, even though she could. Instead she would roll every where, even down stairs. Mac and Adrian who were seven at the time would joke that Mackie was smart; rolling was way easier then crawling. Harris and Kendra did not find that funny.
At four Mackie showed signs of being little... “Clumsy” as her parents put it. She would trip over nothing, and bump into the tables and walls. There was also the problem of Mackie constantly waiting till the last moment to go to the washroom then wetting herself, usually in public since her parents were such social people. Of course, they didn’t know that Mackie was absolutely terrified of the toilet. Mac and adrien would sometimes attack the toilet with stickers and the plunger to show Mackie that there was nothing to fear. Mackie didn’t believe them and still waited to long to avoid going into the bathroom until it was to late. Kendra and Harris also didn’t believe the boys and the often felt their stern hand of their parents.
In all her years in school, Mackie was barely average. She dropped out her last year to the disappointment of her parents and often pleaded to join all the other space goers. Her parents refused. They claimed it was dangerous, or that it was no place for a girl like Mackie. One of these reasons is because Mackie went through a faze where she loved to cook. But then she set the kitchen on fire and almost burned it down. So she was banned from anything that needed eating and preparing. Her parents were just glad she never accidentally cut her fingers off. After that, Mackie showed an interest in drawing, and in fear of Mackie hurting herself somehow, her parents discouraged that to. Nellie was introduced to the houshold and soon Mackie was pushed to the sidelines.
Angry at her parents forcing her to stay at home, maybe even get a local job as a dishwasher so no one had to see her, Mackie decided to rebel. So she stole a ship. A small one, used mostly for carrying products from city to city. Mackie took a joy ride, even though she knew nothing about being a pilot, across town and ended up crashing it into a building downtown. For reasons unknown to Mackie she managed to make the ship blow up after she crashed and she barley escaped alive and conscious. After paramedics found her body, the Coov’s were called to the hospital. Miraculously enough Mackie managed to recover with every body part intact. Before she could be charged, Mac and Adrian who were serving the alliance did Mackie one last favor and smuggled her away. The sent her on a ship to a planet Mackie had never heard of under the name of Mackie Dern and then pretended that they had never seen her after their visit to the hospital. It was luck (and the help Heterochromia from the crash) that saved all three from being arrested and to this day they know not how it happened really.
The Edge.
Something Unique: Mackie has the fear of clogged toilets. When she was being potty trained, Mackie clogged the toilet with toilet paper and it overflowed all over the floor and her feet. She wet herself and cried for the longest time. For about a year every time someone flushed a toilet when she was near, Mackie would climb up on a chair and cried/wet herself. It took about four months for Mackie’s parents to get her to walk into a bathroom. Mackie, who had at the time thought of the toilet as a big scary monster who was trying to eat her, was absolutely traumatized when the toilet “threw up” on her. Every since then, a clogged toilet still brings back memories and Mackie has to leave the vicinity right away. At least she doesn’t cry and wet herself anymore. But Mackie still hesitates in the bathroom before actually using the toilet.
Role Playing Sample: Mackie cleared her throat and blinked at her brothers. As they said their farewells and teased her one last time, her heart beat fast and painfully. What would happen if they were caught? If she managed to escape would she ever see her brothers again? She swallowed and felt hot tears run down her cheeks. Mac stepped up and Mackie looked away. But Adrian caught her chin and turned it towards them. They weren’t crying. Mackie felt even worse. She wasn’t brave enough. She was probably going to screw it up as she always did and get them all thrown in jail. But the twins were hugging her and saying farewell. Then they were gone. Mackie stood in a haze. That was it then. She was alone, with a suitcase and enough money to get her on one other ship.

The bunk was hard and unfriendly. The other woman sharing the cabin was arguing outside the door with some one. Mackie was sitting on her bunk, suitcase open and crying her heart out. Packed neatly in between her clothes were a sketch book and a few pencils. They didn’t forget. Mac and Adrian had remembered although they had only caught her once or twice hidden in her room drawing a bird out the window. The woman burst in the room, cursing in Chinese. Mackie quickly shut her suitcase and stuffed it under her bed. Whipping off her tears, Mackie tried to smile but after a sharp glance from her cabin mate, decided to just sleep for the few hours left on the ship.

Serenity. What an odd name for a ship. But she had heard a rumor from her cabian mate that the ride was cheap, if you didn’t mind outlaws and ruffians. Mackie snorted as she replayed the scene in her mind. Like she cared about outlaws. Besides, if the trip was cheap, she’d take it. But were would she find the ship? Taking a deep breath, Mackie strode off in search of Serenity.
